Hacienda Online provides you with a great way to stay informed of all the latest at Hacienda!
SubscribeOne of Hacienda's greatest attributes is the wonderful setting provided by the community in which it is located: Pleasanton, California. Pleasanton has it all: a beautiful and historic downtown, wonderful schools, recreation opportunities, shopping, health care facilities, and more.
Pleasanton, with a current population of 71,215, first attracted settlers in the 1850s and was incorporated in 1894. Pleasanton's history is most clearly evident in its beautiful downtown. With its historic architecture, a broad variety of events, and thriving restaurants and retailers, the area has long served as Pleasanton's focal point and the center of the community.
The Pleasanton Unified School District is one of the best school systems in California, with many of the district's schools having won recognition in the California Department of Education's "Distinguished Schools" program. Pleasanton's parks and recreation facilities are also rarely matched, and with Pleasanton's great climate - a mean daily minimum temperature of 42 degrees and a mean daily maximum of 73 degrees - there are plenty of opportunities to use them. The 105-acre Pleasanton Sports Park offers nearly 20 softball fields and a dozen soccer fields and the Pleasanton Tennis and Community Park, just blocks away from Hacienda, has ten tennis courts for public use. Pleasanton also has thousands of acres of parks, ranging from small neighborhood parks to the 3,163-acre Pleasanton Ridge Park and its miles of multipurpose trails. Golfers will be pleased to discover two world-class private courses in Pleasanton, the Jack Nicklaus-designed Ruby Hill Golf Club and that found at Castlewood Country Club. Public facilities are available as well including Pleasanton's nationally recognized Callippe Preserve Golf Course.
Pleasanton also serves as the gateway to the oldest wine region in California, the Livermore Valley. With nearly 50 vineyards and wineries ranging from big producers such as Wente Vineyards to smaller, boutique wineries, the area provides some wonderful wine tasting opportunities for summer weekends.
